Do not use isosorbide mononitrate if you are taking sildenafil (Viagra, Revatio). Serious, life-threatening side effects can occur if you take isosorbide mononitrate while you are using sildenafil.
You must not use this medicine if you are allergic to isosorbide mononitrate, isosorbide dinitrate, (Isordil, Dilatrate, Isochron), or nitroglycerin, or if you have early signs of a heart onslaught (chest pain or hard feeling, pain spreading to the hand or shoulder, nausea, sweating, common ill feeling).
Till taking isosorbide mononitrate, speak your doctor if you have congestive heart failure, low blood pressure, or kidney disease.
Isosorbide mononitrate can reason severe headaches, especially when you first start using it. These headaches may gradually become smaller severe as you continue to use the medicine. Do not stop taking isosorbide mononitrate. Ask your doctor till using any headache pain medication.
Isosorbide mononitrate will not treat an angina onslaught that has already begun.

Isosorbide mononitrate is in a group of drugs called nitrates. Isosorbide mononitrate dilates (widens) blood vessels, making it easier for blood to flow through them and easier for the heart to pump.
Isosorbide mononitrate is used to prevent angina attacks (chest pain).
Isosorbide mononitrate will not treat an angina onslaught that has already begun.

Do not use isosorbide mononitrate if you are taking sildenafil (Viagra, Revatio). A dangerous drug interaction could occur, leading to serious side effects.
You must not use this medicine if you are allergic to isosorbide mononitrate, isosorbide dinitrate, (Isordil, Dilatrate, Isochron), or nitroglycerin, or if you have early signs of a heart onslaught (chest pain or hard feeling, pain spreading to the hand or shoulder, nausea, sweating, common ill feeling).

It is not known whether isosorbide mononitrate passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing child. Do not use this medicine without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

Take exactly as predesigned by your doctor. Do not take in larger or less amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.
Your doctor may occasionally change your doze to create certain you get the excellent results.
Not all brands and forms of isosorbide mononitrate are taken the same number of times for day. You may need to take the medicine only once daily, in the morning after getting out of bed. Or you may need a second doze later in the day. Follow your doctor's dosing instructions very carefully.
If possible, try to rest or remain seated when you use this medicine. Isosorbide mononitrate can reason dizziness or fainting.
Take this medicine with at least 4 ounces of water or another liquid.
Do not crush, chew, or interrupt an extended-release tablet. Swallow the pill intact. Breaking the pill may reason too many of the drug to be released at one time.
This medicine can reason unusual results with determined medical trials. Speak any doctor who treats you that you are using isosorbide mononitrate.
Conditions that may reason very low blood pressure include: vomiting, diarrhea, hard sweating, heart malady, dialysis, a low salt diet, or taking diuretics (water pills). Speak your doctor if you have a prolonged diseases that causes diarrhea or vomiting.
Use isosorbide mononitrate regularly to prevent an angina onslaught. Get your prescription refilled till you run out of medication completely.
Do not stop taking isosorbide mononitrate suddenly. Stopping suddenly could reason a severe angina attack.
Do not change brands of isosorbide mononitrate without the approval of your doctor.
Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and easy. Hold the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
Take the missed doze as soon as you remember. Skip the missed doze if it is nearly time for your following scheduled doze. Do not take extra medication to create up the missed dose.
Search abnormal medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222. An overdose of isosorbide mononitrate can be fatal.
Overdose symptoms may include a severe throbbing headache, fever, confusion, dizziness or spinning sensation, quick or pounding heartbeats, vision problems, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, bloody diarrhea, trouble breathing, sweating, cool or clammy skin, feeling light-headed, fainting, and seizure (convulsions).
This medicine may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.
Avoid getting up too quick from a sitting or lying position, or you may feel dizzy. Get up slowly and steady yourself to prevent a fall.
Drinking alcohol can magnify determined side effects of isosorbide mononitrate.
Get abnormal medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your person, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:
· quick, slow, pounding, or uneven heart rate;
· feeling like you might pass out;
· trouble breathing, blue-colored skin, weary feeling; or
· worsening angina pain.
Smaller serious side effects may include:
· headache, mild dizziness;
· warmth, redness, or tingling under your skin;
· nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea;
· pain or stiffness in joints or muscles;
· hot flashes; or
· dry mouth.

Speak your doctor about all another medications you use, especially:
· blood pressure medication;
· dihydroergotamine (D.H.E. 45, Migranal) or ergotamine (Ergomar, Cafergot, and others);
· an erectile dysfunction medicine such as tadalafil (Cialis) or vardenafil (Levitra);
· a beta blocker such as atenolol (Tenormin, Tenoretic), carvedilol (Coreg), labetalol (Normodyne, Trandate), metoprolol (Dutoprol, Lopressor, Toprol), nadolol (Corgard), propranolol (Inderal, InnoPran), sotalol (Betapace), and others;
· heart or blood pressure medication such as amlodipine (Norvasc, Caduet, Exforge, Lotrel, Tekamlo, Tribenzor, Twynsta, Amturnide), diltiazem (Cartia, Cardizem), nifedipine (Nifedical, Procardia), verapamil (Calan, Covera, Isoptin, Verelan), and others.
This list is not complete and another drugs may interact with isosorbide mononitrate. Speak your doctor about all medications you use. This includes prescription, over-the-counter, vitamin, and herbal commodity. Do not start a new medicine without telling your doctor.
