What is the most significant information I must know about fluticasone inhalation?

Do not use fluticasone inhalation to treat an asthma onslaught that has already begun.

• Till using this medicine, speak your doctor if you have been sick or had an infection of any kind. You may not be able to use fluticasone inhalation before you are well.

• Contact your doctor if your asthma symptoms do not improve after using fluticasone inhalation for 2 weeks.

What must I discuss with my healthcare provider till using fluticasone inhalation?

• You must not use this medicine if you are allergic to fluticasone.

• FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether this medicine is deleterious to an unborn child. Till using fluticasone inhalation, speak your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment.

• It is not known whether fluticasone passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing child. Do not use fluticasone inhalation without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

• Do not give this medication to a baby younger than 4 years old without the advice of a doctor. Fluticasone can affect growth in children. Conversation with your doctor if you think your baby is not growing at a usual course while using this medication.

• Long-term use of steroids may lead to bone loss (osteoporosis), especially if you smoke, if you do not exercice, if you do not get satis vitamin D or calcium in your diet, or if you have a family history of osteoporosis. Conversation with your doctor about your risk of osteoporosis.

How must I use fluticasone inhalation?

• Use exactly as predesigned by your doctor. Do not use in larger or less amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.

• This medicine comes with patient instructions for safety and effective use. Follow these directions carefully. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.

Flovent is a liquid form of fluticasone that is used with an inhaler device. This device creates a spray that you inhale through your mouth and into your lungs. Your doctor or pharmacist can show you how to use an inhaler.

Flovent Diskus is a powder form of fluticasone that comes with a particular inhaler device preloaded with blister packs containing measured doses of fluticasone. The device opens and loads a blister of fluticasone every time you use the inhaler. The disk device is not to be used with a spacer. Follow the patient instructions provided with the Diskus.

• To reduce the chance of developing a yeast infection in your mouth, rinse with water after using fluticasone inhalation commodity. Do not swallow. Pay particular attention to your dental hygiene. This medication can reason cavities or tooth discoloration.

• An overdose of fluticasone is not expected to manufacture life threatening symptoms. However, long term use of tall steroid doses can lead to symptoms such as thinning skin, light bruising, changes in the shape or location of body thick (especially in your person, neck, back, and waist), heighten acne or facial hair, menstrual problems, impotence, or loss of interest in sex.

What must I avoid while using fluticasone inhalation?

• Avoid being around people who are sick or have infections. Call your doctor for preventive treatment if you are exposed to chicken pox or measles. These conditions can be serious or even fatal in people who are using fluticasone inhalation.

What are the possible side effects of fluticasone inhalation?

• Get abnormal medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your person, lips, tongue, or throat.

• Stop using fluticasone and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:

· weakness, weary feeling, nausea, vomiting, feeling like you might pass out;

· skin rash, bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness;

· blurred vision, eye pain, or seeing halos near lights;

· signs of infection such as fever, chills, sore throat, ear pain, flu symptoms;

· wheezing or breathing problems after using this medicine; or

· worsening asthma symptoms.

• Smaller serious side effects may include:

· headache;

· dryness in your mouth, nose, or throat;

· white patches or sores internal your mouth or on your lips;

· stuffy nose, sinus pain, cough; or

· hoarseness or deepened voice.

What another drugs will affect fluticasone inhalation?

• Speak your doctor about all another medicines you use, especially:

· conivaptan (Vaprisol);

· imatinib (Gleevec);

· isoniazid (for treating tuberculosis);

· an antibiotic such as clarithromycin (Biaxin), erythromycin (E.E.S., EryPed, Ery-Tab, Erythrocin, Pediazole), or telithromycin (Ketek);

· antifungal medicine such as itraconazole (Sporanox), ketoconazole (Nizoral), miconazole (Oravig), or voriconazole (Vfend);

· an antidepressant such as nefazodone;

· heart or blood pressure medicine such as diltiazem (Cardizem, Dilacor, Tiazac), nicardipine (Cardene), quinidine (Quin-G), or verapamil (Calan, Covera, Isoptin, Verelan); or

· HIV/AIDS medication such as atazanavir (Reyataz), delavirdine (Rescriptor), fosamprenavir (Lexiva), indinavir (Crixivan), nelfinavir (Viracept), saquinavir (Invirase), or ritonavir (Norvir, Kaletra).

• This list is not complete and another drugs may interact with fluticasone. Speak your doctor about all medications you use. This includes prescription, over-the-counter, vitamin, and herbal commodity. Do not start a new medicine without telling your doctor.
