Amlodipine and benazepril is a combination medication used to treat tall blood pressure (hypertension).

What must I discuss with my healthcare provider till taking amlodipine and benazepril?

• You must not use this medication if:

· you are allergic to amlodipine (Norvasc, Caduet, Exforge, Lotrel, Tekamlo, Tribenzor, Twynsta, Amturnide) or benazepril (Lotensin);

· you have ever had angioedema (hives or severe swelling of deep skin tissues sometimes caused by allergic reaction); or

· you are allergic to any another ACE inhibitor, such as captopril (Capoten), fosinopril (Monopril), enalapril (Vasotec), lisinopril (Prinivil, Zestril), moexipril (Univasc), perindopril (Aceon), quinapril (Accupril), ramipril (Altace), or trandolapril (Mavik).

If you have diabetes or kidney disease, you may not be able to take amlodipine and benazepril if you are also taking a blood pressure medicine that contains aliskiren (Amturnide, Tekturna, Tekamlo, or Valturna).

• To create certain amlodipine and benazepril is safety for you, speak your doctor if you have:

· kidney malady (or if you are on dialysis);

· liver disease;

· heart malady or congestive heart failure;

What must I avoid while taking amlodipine and benazepril?

• This medicine may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.

• Do not use salt substitutes or potassium supplements while taking amlodipine and benazepril, unless your doctor has told you to.

• Drinking alcohol can magnify determined side effects of amlodipine and benazepril.

What are the possible side effects of amlodipine and benazepril?

• Get abnormal medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; severe stomach pain; difficulty breathing; swelling of your person, lips, tongue, or throat. You may be more likely to have an allergic reaction if you are African-American.

• Some side effects of amlodipine and benazepril may not occur before after you have been using the medicine for different months.

• Call your doctor at once if you have:

· feeling like you might pass out;

· nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, unusual weakness or weary feeling, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);

· swelling in your hands or foots, rapid weight gain;

· new or worsened chest pain;

· fever, chills, sore throat, body aches, flu symptoms; or

· tall potassium (slow heart course, weak pulse, muscle weakness, tingly feeling).

· cough;

· dizziness; or

· headache.
