What is the most significant information I must know about indapamide?

• Do not use this medicine if you have severe kidney malady or are unable to urinate, if you have severe liver malady, or if you have low potassium levels in your blood (hypokalemia).

• Till using this medicine, speak your doctor if you have liver malady, kidney malady, gout, lupus, diabetes, or an allergy to sulfa drugs.

• Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated during exercice and in hot weather. Follow your doctor's instructions about the type and amount of liquids you must drink. In some cases, drinking too many liquid can be as unsafe as not drinking enough.

• If you are being treated for tall blood pressure, hold using this medicine even if you feel beautiful. Tall blood pressure often has no symptoms.

What is indapamide?

• Indapamide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too many salt, which can reason fluid retention.

• Indapamide treats fluid retention (edema) in people with congestive heart failure. This medicine is also used to treat tall blood pressure (hypertension).

• Indapamide may also be used for another purposes not listed in this medicine guide.

What must I discuss with my doctor till taking indapamide?

• Do not use this medicine if you have:

· severe kidney malady or are unable to urinate;

· severe liver malady; or

· low potassium levels in your blood (hypokalemia).

• If you have any of these another conditions, you may need a doze adjustment or particular trials to safely take indapamide:

· kidney disease;

· liver disease;

· gout;

· diabetes; or

· an allergy to sulfa drugs.

• FDA pregnancy category B. This medicine is not expected to be deleterious to an unborn child. Speak your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment.

• It is not known whether indapamide passes into breast milk or if it could reason harm to a nursing child. Do not use this medicine without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

How must I take indapamide?

• Take this medicine exactly as it was predesigned for you. Do not take the medicine in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor. Follow the directions on your prescription label.

• To be certain this medicine is not causing deleterious effects, your blood will need to be tested on a regular basis. Do not miss any scheduled appointments.

• Your blood and urine may both be tested if you have been vomiting or are dehydrated.

• If you are being treated for tall blood pressure, hold using this medicine even if you feel beautiful. Tall blood pressure often has no symptoms.

• Store the tablets at room temperature away from heat, easy, and moisture.

What happens if I miss a dose?

• Take the missed doze as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your following doze, skip the missed doze and take the medication at the following regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medication to create up the missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

• Search abnormal medical attention if you think you have used too many of this medicine.

• Overdose symptoms of a indapamide overdose may include nausea, weakness, dizziness, dry mouth, thirst, and muscle pain or weakness.

What must I avoid while taking indapamide?

What are the possible side effects of indapamide?

• Get abnormal medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your person, lips, tongue, or throat.

• Stop using this medicine and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:

· dry mouth, thirst, nausea, vomiting;

· feeling weak, drowsy, restless, or light-headed;

· quick or uneven heartbeat; or

· muscle pain or weakness.

• Smaller serious side effects may include:

· dizziness;

· headache; or

· mild skin rash.

What another drugs will affect indapamide?

• Till taking this medicine, speak your doctor if you are using any of the next drugs:

· lithium;

· baclofen (Lioresal);

· another blood pressure medications;

· steroids (prednisone and others);

· insulin or diabetes medication taken by mouth;

· salicylates such as aspirin, Disalcid, Doan's Pills, Dolobid, Salflex, Tricosal, and others;

· an ACE inhibitor such as benazepril (Lotensin), captopril (Capoten), enalapril (Vasotec), lisinopril (Prinivil, Zestril), ramipril (Altace), and others;

· NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), diclofenac (Voltaren), indomethacin, naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), piroxicam (Feldene), and others; or

· amiodarone (Cordarone, Pacerone), chloroquine (Arelan), cisapride (Propulsid), clarithromycin (Biaxin), disopyramide (Norpace), dofetilide (Tikosyn), droperidol (Inapsine), erythromycin (Erythrocin, E.E.S), haloperidol (Haldol), pentamidine (NebuPent, Pentam), pimozide (Orap), procainamide (Procan), quinidine (Cardioquin, Quinaglute), sotalol (Betapace), or thioridazine (Mellaril).
