• Do not use carbetapentane and guaifenesin if you have taken an MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days. A dangerous drug interaction could occur. MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, and tranylcypromine.
• Follow all directions on your medication label and package. Speak every of your healthcare providers about all your medical conditions, allergies, and all medicines you use.
• Carbetapentane is a cough suppressant. It affects the signals in the brain that trigger cough reflex.
• Guaifenesin is an expectorant. It helps loosen mucus congestion in your chest and throat, making it easier to cough out through your mouth.
• Carbetapentane and guaifenesin is a combination medication used to treat stuffy nose, cough, and chest congestion caused by the general cool or flu.
• This medicine will not treat a cough that is caused by smoking, asthma, or emphysema.
• Carbetapentane and guaifenesin may also be used for purposes not listed in this medicine guide.

• Use exactly as directed on the label, or as predesigned by your doctor. Do not use in larger or less amounts or for longer than recommended. Cough or cool medication is generally taken only for a short time before your symptoms clear up.
• Do not give this medicine to a baby younger than 4 years old. Always ask a doctor till giving a cough or cool medication to a child. Death can occur from the misuse of cough and cool medicines in very young children.
• Take this medicine with a full glass of water. Drink extra fluids to help loosen the congestion and lubricate your throat while you are taking this medication.
• You may take carbetapentane and guaifenesin with or without food. Taking it with food or milk may decrease stomach upset.
• Do not crush, chew, or interrupt an extended-release tablet. Swallow it intact.
• Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 7 days of treatment, or if you have a fever with a headache, cough, or skin rash.
• This medicine can reason unusual results with determined medical trials. Speak any doctor who treats you if you have taken a cough medication within the past little days.
• If you need surgery, speak the surgeon onward of time if you have taken a cough medication within the past little days.
• Store at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and easy. Do not let liquid medication to freeze.
• Since cough or cool medication is taken when needed, you may not be on a dosing schedule. If you are on a schedule, use the missed doze as soon as you remember. Skip the missed doze if it is nearly time for your following scheduled doze. Do not use extra medication to create up the missed dose.
• Search abnormal medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222.
• This medicine may reason blurred vision and may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert and able to see clearly.
• Drinking alcohol can magnify drowsiness caused by carbetapentane and guaifenesin.
• Ask a doctor or pharmacist till using any another cool, cough, or allergy medication. Cough suppressants and expectorants are contained in much combination medicines. Taking determined commodity together can reason you to get too many of a determined drug. Check the label to see if a medication contains a cough suppressant or expectorant.
• Get abnormal medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your person, lips, tongue, or throat.

· tremors; or
· extreme weakness.
• General side effects may include:
· drowsiness, dizziness;
