Aripiprazole is not for use in psychotic conditions that are related to dementia. Aripiprazole may reason heart failure, sudden death, or pneumonia in older adults with dementia-related conditions.
Stop using aripiprazole and call your doctor at once if you have the next symptoms: fever with stiff muscles and rapid heart course; uncontrolled muscle movements; symptoms that come on suddenly such as numbness or weakness, severe headache, and problems with vision, speech, or balance.
Aripiprazole is an antipsychotic medicine. It works by changing the actions of chemicals in the brain.
Aripiprazole is used to treat the symptoms of psychotic conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar mess (manic depression). It is also used together with another medications to treat major depressive mess in adults.
Aripiprazole is also used to treat irritability and symptoms of aggression, mood swings, temper tantrums, and self-injury related to autistic mess in children who are at least 6 years old.
Aripiprazole may also be used for purposes not listed in this medicine guide.

You must not take aripiprazole if you are allergic to it.
To create certain you can safely take aripiprazole, speak your doctor if you have any of these another conditions:
· liver or kidney disease;
· heart malady, tall blood pressure, heart rhythm problems;
· tall cholesterol or triglycerides (a type of thick in the blood);
· a history of low white blood cell (WBC) counts;
· a history of heart onslaught or stroke;
· a history of breast cancer;
· seizures or epilepsy;
· a private or family history of diabetes; or
· trouble swallowing.
The liquid form (oral solution) of this medicine may contain up to 15 grams of sugar for doze. Till taking aripiprazole oral solution, speak your doctor if you have diabetes.
The orally disintegrating tablet form of this medicine may contain over 3 milligrams of phenylalanine for tablet. Till taking Abilify Discmelt, speak your doctor if you have phenylketonuria.
Aripiprazole may reason you to have tall blood sugar (hyperglycemia). Conversation to your doctor if you have any signs of hyperglycemia such as heighten thirst or urination, overweening famine, or weakness. If you are diabetic, check your blood sugar levels on a regular basis while you are taking aripiprazole.
FDA pregnancy category C. Speak your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment.
Taking antipsychotic medicine during the recent 3 months of pregnancy may reason problems in the newborn, such as withdrawal symptoms, breathing problems, feeding problems, fussiness, tremors, and limp or stiff muscles. However, you may have withdrawal symptoms or another problems if you stop taking your medication during pregnancy. If you become pregnant while taking aripiprazole, do not stop taking it without your doctor's advice.
Aripiprazole can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing child. Do not use this medicine without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Take exactly as predesigned by your doctor. Do not take in larger or less amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.
Your doctor may occasionally change your doze to create certain you get the excellent results.
Do not take aripiprazole for longer than 6 weeks unless your doctor has told you to.
Aripiprazole can be taken with or without food.
Measure liquid medication with a particular doze measuring spoon or medication cup, not with a regular table spoon. If you do not have a doze measuring device, ask your pharmacist for one.
To take aripiprazole orally disintegrating tablets (Abilify Discmelt):
· Hold the tablet in its blister pack before you are ready to take it. Open the package and peel back the foil from the tablet blister. Do not push a tablet through the foil or you may hurt the tablet.
· Using dry hands, remove the tablet and seat it in your mouth. It will begin to dissolve right away.
· Do not swallow the tablet intact. Let it to dissolve in your mouth without chewing.
· Swallow different times as the tablet dissolves. If desired, you may drink liquid to help swallow the dissolved tablet.
Use aripiprazole regularly to get the most benefit. Get your prescription refilled till you run out of medication completely.
Your doctor will need to check your progress on a regular basis. Do not miss any scheduled appointments.
Store aripiprazole tablets at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
Aripiprazole liquid must be stored in the refrigerator and can be used for up to 6 months after opening.
Take the missed doze as soon as you remember. Skip the missed doze if it is nearly time for your following scheduled doze. Do not take extra medication to create up the missed dose.

Overdose symptoms may include drowsiness, vomiting, agitation, aggression, confusion, tremors, quick or slow heart course, seizure (convulsions), trouble breathing, or fainting.
This medicine may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.
Avoid getting up too quick from a sitting or lying position, or you may feel dizzy. Get up slowly and steady yourself to prevent a fall.
Drinking alcohol can magnify determined side effects of aripiprazole.
Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated. Drink plenty of fluids, especially in hot weather and during exercice. It is easier to become dangerously overheated and dehydrated while you are taking aripiprazole.
Get abnormal medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your person, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using aripiprazole and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:
· fever, stiff muscles, confusion, sweating, quick or uneven heartbeats;
· jerky muscle movements you can't control;
· sudden numbness or weakness, headache, confusion, or problems with vision, speech, or balance;
· fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms, sores in your mouth and throat;
· heighten thirst or urination, loss of appetite, fruity breath odor, drowsiness, dry skin, nausea, and vomiting;
· seizure (convulsions);
· thoughts of hurting yourself;
· feeling like you might pass out;
· jaundice (yellowing of your skin or eyes); or
· urinating smaller than normal or not at all.
Smaller serious side effects may include:
· choking or trouble swallowing;
· dizziness, drowsiness, or weakness;
· constipation, mild stomach upset;
· headache, anxiety;
· sleep problems (insomnia); or
· weight gain.

Till you take aripiprazole, speak your doctor if you regularly use another medicines that create you sleepy (such as cool or allergy medication, narcotic pain medication, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, and medication for seizures, depression, or anxiety). They can add to sleepiness caused by aripiprazole.
Speak your doctor about all another medicines you use, especially:
· a medicine to treat tall blood pressure or a heart condition;
· carbamazepine, phenobarbital, or phenytoin;
· quinidine; or
· fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, or paroxetine.
This list is not complete and another drugs may interact with aripiprazole. Speak your doctor about all medications you use. This includes prescription, over-the-counter, vitamin, and herbal commodity. Do not start a new medicine without telling your doctor.
