What is the most significant information I must know about thiothixene?
• Thiothixene is not for use in psychotic conditions related to dementia. Thiothixene may reason heart failure, sudden death, or pneumonia in older adults with dementia-related conditions.
• You must not use this medicine if you are allergic to thiothixene, or if you have a blood cell mess such as anemia or low white blood cells or platelets, or if you have decreased alertness caused by taking determined medications or drinking alcohol.
• Call your doctor at once if you have twitching or uncontrollable movements of your eyes, lips, tongue, person, arms, or legs.
• Thiothixene may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.
• Avoid getting up too quick from a sitting or lying position, or you may feel dizzy. Get up slowly and steady yourself to prevent a fall.
• Do not drink alcohol. Thiothixene can magnify the effects of alcohol, which could be dangerous.
• Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated during exercice and in hot weather. Thiothixene can decrease perspiration and you may be more prone to heat stroke.
What is thiothixene?
• Thiothixene is an antipsychotic medicine. It affects the actions of chemicals in your brain.
• Thiothixene is used to treat schizophrenia.
• Thiothixene may also be used for purposes not listed in this medicine guide.
What must I discuss with my healthcare provider till taking thiothixene?
• Thiothixene is not for use in psychotic conditions related to dementia. Thiothixene may reason heart failure, sudden death, or pneumonia in older adults with dementia-related conditions.
• You must not use thiothixene if you are allergic to it, or if you have:
· a blood cell mess such as anemia, low white blood cell counts, or low platelets; or
· drowsiness, slow breathing, weak pulse, or decreased alertness caused by taking determined medications or drinking alcohol.
• To create certain you can safely take thiothixene, speak your doctor if you have any of these another conditions:
· epilepsy or another seizure disorder;
· a history of low white blood cell (WBC) counts;
· a history of breast cancer; or
· if you are addicted to alcohol.
• Speak your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medication.
• Taking antipsychotic medicine during the recent 3 months of pregnancy may reason problems in the newborn, such as withdrawal symptoms, breathing problems, feeding problems, fussiness, tremors, and limp or stiff muscles. However, you may have withdrawal symptoms or another problems if you stop taking your medication during pregnancy. If you become pregnant while taking thiothixene, do not stop taking it without your doctor's advice.
• It is not known whether thiothixene passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing child. Do not use this medicine without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
• Thiothixene must not be given to a baby younger than 12 years old.
How must I take thiothixene?
• Take exactly as predesigned by your doctor. Do not take in larger or less amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.
• Your doctor may occasionally change your doze to create certain you get the excellent results.
• You may not start feeling better right away when you start taking thiothixene. For excellent results, hold using the medicine as directed. Conversation with your doctor if your symptoms do not improve during treatment.
• You will need regular medical trials to be certain this medicine is not causing deleterious effects. Visit your doctor regularly.
• Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
What happens if I miss a dose?
• Take the missed doze as soon as you remember. Skip the missed doze if it is nearly time for your following scheduled doze. Do not take extra medication to create up the missed dose.
What happens if I overdose?
• Search abnormal medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222.
• Overdose symptoms may include drowsiness, dizziness, muscle stiffness or twitching, heighten salivation, trouble swallowing, weakness, loss of balance or coordination, and fainting.
What must I avoid while taking thiothixene?
• Thiothixene may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert.

• Do not drink alcohol. Thiothixene can magnify the effects of alcohol, which could be dangerous.

• Avoid exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Thiothixene can create you sunburn more easily. Wear protective clothing and use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) when you are outdoors.
What are the possible side effects of thiothixene?
• Get abnormal medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your person, lips, tongue, or throat.
• Stop taking thiothixene and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:
· very stiff (rigid) muscles, tall fever, sweating, confusion, quick or uneven heartbeats, feeling like you might pass out;
· twitching or uncontrollable movements of your eyes, lips, tongue, person, arms, or legs;
· tremor (uncontrolled shaking);
· trouble swallowing;
· vision changes;
· swelling in your hands or feet;
· seizure (convulsions);
· pale skin, light bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness; or
· fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms.
• Smaller serious side effects may include:
· dizziness or drowsiness;
· feeling restless or agitated;
· sleep problems (insomnia);
· breast swelling or discharge;
· changes in your menstrual periods;
· nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation;
· changes in weight or appetite;
· dry mouth, heighten thirst; or
· impotence, loss of interest in sex.

What another drugs will affect thiothixene?
• Till using thiothixene, speak your doctor if you regularly use another medicines that create you sleepy (such as cool or allergy medication, narcotic pain medication, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, and medication for seizures, depression, or anxiety). You must not take thiothixene if you have drowsiness caused by another medications.
• Speak your doctor about all another medications you use, especially:
· carbamazepine (Carbatrol, Tegretol);
· blood pressure medications;
· atropine (Donnatal, and others), benztropine (Cogentin), dimenhydrinate (Dramamine), methscopolamine (Pamine), or scopolamine (Transderm-Scop);
· bronchodilators such as ipratroprium (Atrovent) or tiotropium (Spiriva);
· glycopyrrolate (Robinul);
· mepenzolate (Cantil);
· bladder or urinary medications such as darifenacin (Enablex), flavoxate (Urispas), oxybutynin (Ditropan, Oxytrol), tolterodine (Detrol), or solifenacin (Vesicare); or
· irritable bowel medications such as dicyclomine (Bentyl), hyoscyamine (Anaspaz, Cystospaz, Levsin, and others), or propantheline (Pro-Banthine).
• This list is not complete and another drugs may interact with thiothixene. Speak your doctor about all medications you use. This includes prescription, over-the-counter, vitamin, and herbal commodity. Do not start a new medicine without telling your doctor.
