What is the most significant information I must know about oxybutynin?

• You must not use oxybutynin if you have untreated or uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, a blockage in your digestive tract (stomach or intestines), or if you are unable to urinate.

What is oxybutynin?

• Oxybutynin reduces muscle spasms of the bladder and urinary tract.

• Oxybutynin is used to treat symptoms of overactive bladder, such as frequent or urgent urination, incontinence (urine leakage), and heighten night-time urination.

• Oxybutynin may also be used for purposes not listed in this medicine guide.

What must I discuss with my healthcare provider till using oxybutynin?

• You must not use this medicine if you are allergic to oxybutynin, or if you have:

· untreated or uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma;

· a blockage in your digestive tract (stomach or intestines); or

· if you are unable to urinate.

• To create certain oxybutynin is safety for you, speak your doctor if you have:

· glaucoma;

· liver disease;

· kidney disease;

· an enlarged prostate;

· ulcerative colitis;

· a muscle mess such as myasthenia gravis; or

· a stomach mess such as gastroesophageal reflux malady (GERD) or slow digestion.

• FDA pregnancy category B. This medicine is not expected to be deleterious to an unborn child. Speak your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment.

• It is not known whether oxybutynin passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing child. Do not use this medicine without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

How must I take oxybutynin?

• Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take this medication in larger or less amounts or for longer than recommended.

• Take this medicine with a full glass of water. Try to take this medicine at the same time every day.

• Oxybutynin may be taken with or without food.

• Do not crush, chew, or interrupt an extended-release tablet. Swallow it intact.

• Measure liquid medication with a particular dose-measuring spoon or medication cup. If you do not have a dose-measuring device, ask your pharmacist for one.

• Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

What happens if I miss a dose?

• Take the missed doze as soon as you remember. Skip the missed doze if it is nearly time for your following scheduled doze. Do not take extra medication to create up the missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

• Search abnormal medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222.

What must I avoid while using oxybutynin?

• This medicine may reason blurred vision and may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert and able to see clearly.

• Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated during exercice and in hot weather. Oxybutynin can decrease perspiration and you may be more prone to heat stroke.

What are the possible side effects of oxybutynin?

• Get abnormal medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your person, lips, tongue, or throat.

• Stop using oxybutynin and call your doctor at once if you have:

· feeling very thirsty or hot, being unable to urinate, hard sweating, or hot and dry skin;

· severe stomach pain or constipation;

· blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain, or seeing halos near lights;

· pain or burning when you urinate; or

· few or no urinating.

• General side effects may include:

· dry mouth;

· dry eyes, blurred vision;

· mild constipation; or

· dizziness, drowsiness.

What another drugs will affect oxybutynin?

• Taking this medication with another drugs that create you sleepy or slow your breathing can worsen these effects. Ask your doctor till taking oxybutynin with a sleeping pill, narcotic pain medication, muscle relaxer, or medication for anxiety, depression, or seizures.

• Speak your doctor about all medicines you use, and those you start or stop using during your treatment with oxybutynin, especially:

· another bladder or urinary medicines such as darifenacin, fesoterodine, tolterodine, solifenacin;

· bronchodilators such as ipratropium or tiotropium;

· cool or allergy medication that contains an antihistamine;

· medicine for Parkinson's malady; or

· medicine to treat excess stomach acid, stomach ulcer, motion sickness, or irritable bowel syndrome.
