Probenecid reduces the loss of dexketoprofen,
diflunisal,
ketoprofen, ketorolac, indometacin, meclofenamate,
naproxen, tenoxicam and tiaprofenic acid from the body, and raises their
serum levels. Increased
clinical effects have been seen for indometacin, but indometacin
toxicity has also occurred.
Increased levels do occur, which could reasonably be expected to result in increased beneficial and adverse effects. However, the
clinical outcome of this interaction is uncertain and so action (e.g. dose adjustments) should be based on the response of the patient. Note that
probenecid is specifically contraindicated by the manufacturers of ketorolac.
