Chlorzoxazone is a muscle relaxer. It works by blocking nerve impulses (or pain sensations) that are sent to your brain.
Chlorzoxazone is used together with rest and physical therapy to treat skeletal muscle conditions such as pain or injury.
Chlorzoxazone may also be used for purposes not listed in this medicine guide.
You must not use this medicine if you are allergic to chlorzoxazone.
To create certain you can safely take chlorzoxazone, speak your doctor if you have liver disease.
This medicine may be deleterious to an unborn child. Speak your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment.
It is not known whether chlorzoxazone passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing child. Do not use this medicine without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Take exactly as predesigned by your doctor. Do not take in larger or less amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.
Take the medication with a full glass of water.
Chlorzoxazone is only part of a complete program of treatment that may also include rest, physical therapy, or another pain relief measures. Follow your doctor's instructions.
Store chlorzoxazone at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
Take the missed doze as soon as you remember. Skip the missed doze if it is nearly time for your following scheduled doze. Do not take extra medication to create up the missed dose.
Search abnormal medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222. An overdose of chlorzoxazone can be fatal.
Overdose symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, drowsiness, dizziness, headache, muscle weakness, shallow breathing, or fainting.

Get abnormal medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your person, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using chlorzoxazone and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:
· black, bloody, or tarry stools;
· nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
· coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds; or
· feeling like you might pass out.
Smaller serious side effects may include:
· drowsiness, dizziness, weary feeling;
· restlessness;
· slightly discolored urine; or
· mild skin rash or bruising.

Till using chlorzoxazone, speak your doctor if you regularly use another medicines that create you sleepy (such as cool or allergy medication, sedatives, narcotic pain medication, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, and medication for seizures, depression, or anxiety). They can add to sleepiness caused by chlorzoxazone.
