Modafinil reduced the maximum
plasma concentration of
triazolam by 42% and reduced its elimination
half-life by about one hour. Alprazolam and
midazolam may be similarly affected. In contrast,
diazepam levels may be increased by
modafinil.
Dosage adjustments may be necessary on concurrent use. Monitor to ensure that the benzodiazepine effects are adequate, and, in the case of
diazepam, not excessive.
