Roxithromycin has a weak effect on the
metabolism of
midazolam and
triazolam, and
erythromycin has a weak effect on the
metabolism of
diazepam, flunitrazepam, nitrazepam,
temazepam and
zaleplon. Erythromycin possibly increases the effects of
alprazolam.
The general significance of these modest interactions are unclear, but it may be prudent to monitor the outcome of concurrent use, reducing the dose of the benzodiazepine if necessary.
