Benzathine penicillin and procaine penicillin is an antibiotic that fights bacteria in your body.

Benzathine penicillin and procaine penicillin is used to treat much various types of severe infections, including strep and staph infections, diphtheria, meningitis, gonorrhea, and syphilis.

Benzathine penicillin and procaine penicillin is also used to prevent infections of the heart valves in people with determined heart conditions who need to have dental work or surgery.

• Store this medicine in the refrigerator. Do not freeze. Do not use the mixed medicine if it has changed colors or has any particles in it.

What happens if I miss a dose?

• If you are on a dosing schedule, call your doctor for instructions if you miss a dose.

What happens if I overdose?

• Search abnormal medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222. Overdose symptoms may include seizure (convulsions).

What must I avoid while using benzathine penicillin and procaine penicillin?

• Antibiotic medicines can reason diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection. If you have diarrhea that is watery or bloody, stop taking this medicine and call your doctor. Do not use anti-diarrhea medication unless your doctor tells you to.

What are the possible side effects of benzathine penicillin and procaine penicillin ?

• Get abnormal medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your person, lips, tongue, or throat.

• Call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

· fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash;

· skin rash with bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness;

· rash or itching with swollen glands, joint pain, or common ill feeling;

· uncontrolled muscle movements, problems with vision, speech, balance, thinking, or walking;

· confusion, agitation, hallucinations, unusual thoughts or behavior;

· light bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness;

· pale or yellowed skin, dark colored urine; or

· urinating smaller than normal or not at all.

• Smaller serious side effects may include:

· nausea, vomiting;

· blurred vision, ringing in your ears;

· headache, dizziness;

· mild skin rash; or

· pain, swelling, bruising, skin changes, or a heavy lump where the medication was injected.

· a tetracycline antibiotic, such as doxycycline (Adoxa, Doryx, Oracea, Vibramycin), minocycline (Dynacin, Minocin, Solodyn, Vectrin), or tetracycline (Brodspec, Panmycin, Sumycin, Tetracap).
