Case reports describe increased amitriptyline or nortriptyline levels in patients also
taking
fluconazole (tricyclic antidepressant levels at least doubled). There is also a
report of a patient who developed a prolonged QT interval and torsades de pointes
arrhythmias, which were associated with the concurrent use of amitriptyline and
fluconazole. Consider also drugs that prolong the QT interval.
The general importance of this interaction is unclear, but bear it in mind in case of an unexpected response to treatment.
