No clinically relevant pharmacokinetic interaction occurs between
pregabalin and
alcohol, and concurrent use does not appear to have a clinically important effect on respiration. However, the manufacturers suggest that
pregabalin may potentiate the effects of
alcohol.
Patients should be warned that their usual response to
alcohol may be greater than expected, and their ability to drive a car, or carry out any other tasks requiring alertness, may be impaired.
