Adverse neuropsychiatric events or reduced
alcohol tolerance has been reported in patients taking
bupropion. The risk of seizures with
bupropion may be increased with both the excessive use and abrupt withdrawal of
alcohol.
The manufacturers recommend that the consumption of
alcohol should be minimised or avoided.
Bupropion is contraindicated during abrupt withdrawal from
alcohol.
