What is the most significant information I must know about adapalene topical?

• Avoid getting this medicine in your eyes, in the creases of your nose, or on your lips. If it does get into any of these areas, wash with water. Do not use adapalene topical on sunburned, windburned, dry, chapped, irritated, or broken skin. Also avoid using this medicine in wounds or on areas of eczema. Wait before these conditions have healed till using adapalene topical.

• Do not use skin commodity that contain alpha hydroxy or glycolic acid while you are also using adapalene topical.

• Avoid using skin commodity that can reason irritation, such as harsh soaps, shampoos, or skin cleansers, hair coloring or permanent chemicals, hair removers or waxes, or skin commodity with alcohol, spices, astringents, or lime. Do not use another medicine skin commodity unless your doctor has told you to.

• Avoid exposure to sunlight or artificial UV rays (sunlamps or tanning beds). Adapalene topical can create your skin more sensitive to sunlight and sunburn may result. Use a sunscreen (minimum SPF 15) and wear protective clothing if you should be out in the sun.

What is adapalene topical?

Adapalene is a topical (applied to the skin) medicine similar to vitamin A. It helps the skin renew itself.

Adapalene topical is used to treat severe acne in people who are at least 12 years old.

Adapalene topical may also be used for purposes another than those listed in this medicine guide.

What must I discuss with my healthcare provider till using adapalene topical?

• You must not use this medicine if you are allergic to adapalene.

• FDA pregnancy category C. This medicine may be deleterious to an unborn child. Speak your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment.

• It is not known whether adapalene topical passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing child. Do not use adapalene topical without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

How must I use adapalene topical?

• Use adapalene topical exactly as your doctor has predesigned it for you. Using more medication or applying it more often than predesigned will not create it work any faster, and may magnify side effects. Do not use this medicine for longer than your doctor has prescribed.

Adapalene topical is generally applied once daily in the evening.

• Wash your hands till applying adapalene topical.

• Clean your skin with a mild cleanser (not soap) till applying the medicine. Pat the skin dry with a clean towel.

• Apply the medicine in a thin layer to the entire person or another affected skin areas. Do not apply any another skin commodity unless your doctor has told you to.

• Use this medicine for as much days as it has been predesigned for you even if you think it is not working. It may take weeks or months of use till you announcement improvement in your skin. Your acne may get slightly worse for a short time when you first start using the medicine. Call your doctor if skin irritation becomes severe or if your acne does not improve within 8 to 12 weeks.

• Store adapalene topical at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

What happens if I miss a dose?

• Apply the medicine as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the following doze, skip the missed doze and wait before your following regularly scheduled doze. Do not apply extra medication to create up the missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

• Search abnormal medical attention if you think you have used too many of this medication. Overdose symptoms may include skin redness, scaling, or irritation.

What are the possible side effects of adapalene topical?

• Stop using this medicine and get abnormal medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your person, lips, tongue, or throat.

• During your first 4 weeks of using adapalene topical, your skin may be dry, red, or scaly. You may also feel some burning or stinging. Call your doctor if these side effects are severe.

• Smaller serious side effects are more likely to occur, such as mild burning, warmth, stinging, tingling, itching, redness, or irritation.

• This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Speak your doctor about any unusual or bothersome side effect. You may message side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

What another drugs will affect adapalene topical?

• It is not likely that another drugs you take orally or inject will have an effect on topically applied adapalene. But much drugs can interact with every another. Speak your doctor about all your prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, minerals, herbal commodity, and drugs predesigned by another doctors. Do not start a new medicine without telling your doctor.
