Rifampicin reduces the AUC of
trimethoprim (given as co-trimoxazole) by 56% in HIV- positive subjects, but apparently has no effect on
trimethoprim in healthy subjects.
The interaction between
rifampicin and
trimethoprim seems unlikely to be relevant in subjects who are not infected with HIV. Consider also
co-trimoxazole.
