The UK manufacturers of
tacrolimus suggest that all
NSAIDs may have additive
nephrotoxic effects with
tacrolimus. Cases of
renal failure have been reported in patients receiving the combination.
Tacrolimus levels and/or effects (e.g. on
renal function) should be monitored as a matter of routine, but it may be prudent to increase monitoring if
NSAIDs are started.
