What is the most significant information I must know about nedocromil ophthalmic?

What is nedocromil ophthalmic?

Nedocromil is an anti-allergic medicine. It inhibits processes in the body that reason allergic symptoms after exposure to an allergen.

Nedocromil ophthalmic is used to treat ocular (eye) symptoms of allergic conditions, such as inflammation, itching, watering, and burning.

Nedocromil ophthalmic may also be used for purposes another than those listed in this medicine guide.

Who must not use nedocromil ophthalmic?

• Do not use nedocromil ophthalmic if you have a bacterial, viral, or fungal infection in your eye unless you are also receiving proper anti-infective treatment.

Nedocromil ophthalmic is in the FDA pregnancy category B. This means that it is unlikely to harm an unborn child. Do not use nedocromil ophthalmic without first talking to your doctor if you are pregnant.

• It is not known whether nedocromil passes into breast milk. Do not use nedocromil ophthalmic without first talking to your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

Nedocromil ophthalmic is not authorized for use by children younger than 3 years of age.

How must I use nedocromil ophthalmic?

• Use nedocromil eye drops exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you.

• Wash your hands till using your eye drops.

• Remove the safe sorrow and cap from the bottle. Sit or stand comfortably with your head tilted back. Pull down on your lower eyelid and look up and away from the dropper. Position the dropper tip as close as possible to your lower eyelid and gently squeeze out the predesigned number of drops. Blink a little times to create certain your eye is covered with the solution. Close your eye and remove any excess solution with a clean tissue. Repeat this process in your another eye if directed to do so by your doctor. Replace the cap after use.

• Avoid placing the eye drops directly on the pupil of your eye, this area is especially sensitive. Administration of the eye drops may be more suitable if they are placed just internal the lower eyelid as directed above.

What happens if I miss a dose?

• Apply the missed doze as soon as you remember. However, if it is nearly time for your following regularly scheduled doze, skip the missed doze and apply the following one as directed. Do not use a double doze of this medication.

What happens if I overdose?

• An overdose of this medicine is unlikely to occur. If you do suspect an overdose, call an abnormal room or poison control center around you. If the drops have been ingested (taken by mouth), drink plenty of fluid and call an abnormal center for advice.
