What is methylcellulose?

Methylcellulose is a bulk-forming laxative. Methylcellulose absorbs liquid in the intestines and makes a bulky, softer stool which is easier to pass.

Methylcellulose helps relieve constipation and to sustain regularity.

Methylcellulose may also have uses another than those listed in this product guide.

What must I discuss with my healthcare provider till taking methylcellulose?

• Do not take methylcellulose without first talking to your doctor if you have

· stomach (abdominal) pain, nausea, or vomiting;

· difficulty swallowing; or

· intestinal obstruction or fecal impaction.

• You may not be able to take methylcellulose or you may require particular monitoring while taking methylcellulose if you have any of the conditions listed above.

• Every level scoop of sugar-free methylcellulose powder contains 52 mg of phenylalanine. Individuals with phenylketonuria may need to monitor their intake of this additive.

• Store methylcellulose at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

What happens if I miss a dose?

• Take the missed doze as soon as you remember. However, if it is nearly time for the following doze, skip the missed doze and take only the following regularly scheduled doze. Do not take a double dose.

What happens if I overdose?

• Search abnormal medical attention if an overdose is suspected.

• Symptoms of a methylcellulose overdose are not known.

What must I avoid while taking methylcellulose?

• There are no restrictions on foods, beverages, or activities during treatment with methylcellulose unless otherwise directed by your healthcare provider.

What are the possible side effects of methylcellulose?

• If you experience any of the next uncommon but serious side effects, stop taking methylcellulose and search medical treatment or contact your doctor immediately:

· an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or person; or hives);

· chest pain;

· difficulty swallowing;

· rectal bleeding; or

· severe abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting.
