Adolescents with Ulcerative Colitis
Cap: 50 mg/kg/day PO qid or 1 gm PO qid
Retention enema: 60 mL qhs, retained overnight (for approximately 8 hrs) for 3-6 weeks
Rectal suppository: 500 mg PR bid (retained for 1-3 hours) for 3-6 weeks, may increase to tid
Tab, DR: 50 mg/kg/day PO q8-12h (max 2400 mg/day)
