The therapeutic effects of
levodopa can be reduced by
phenytoin.
Evidence is limited (effects in 5 patients only). If concurrent use is necessary be aware that some patients may experience a worsening of
symptoms. It seems possible that fosphenytoin, a prodrug of
phenytoin, could have similar effects.
