• Hyaluronan is similar to synovial fluid, a stuff that occurs naturally in the joints. Synovial fluid acts as a lubricant and shock absorber.
• Hyaluronan is injected into the knee joints for the treatment of pain in individuals with osteoarthritis.
• Hyaluronan may also be used for purposes another than those listed here.

• Hyaluronan must not be used if there is an infection or skin malady at the site of injection.

• An overdose of hyaluronan is unlikely to threaten life. Contact your doctor or search abnormal medical attention if an overdose of hyaluronan is suspected.
• Avoid strenuous activity or prolonged (longer than one hour) weight-bearing activity such as jogging, tennis, lifting weights, or standing for 48 hours next an injection, unless otherwise directed by your doctor.
• Notify your doctor immediately if you experience a rare but serious allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or person; or hives) to hyaluronan.
• Another smaller serious side effects may also occur. Conversation to your doctor if you experience
· temporary pain or swelling of the affected joint;
· rash or bruising at the injection site; or
· an overall achy feeling.
