HRT increases the AUC of
tacrine by 60% (and even up to 3-fold in one individual) and reduces the clearance by about 30%.
The importance of this interaction is unclear. Increased
tacrine levels may increase both the
efficacy and adverse effects of
tacrine. Monitor patients for signs of
tacrine toxicity and consider a
tacrine dose reduction if indicated.
