HERBAL MEDICINES OR DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS AND WARFARIN AND OTHER ORAL ANTICOAGULANTS - CHAMOMILE

A single case describes a woman taking warfarin who developed a marked increase in her INR with bleeding complications 5 days after she started drinking chamomile tea and using a chamomile-based skin lotion.
Note that there appear to be no reports of chamomile alone causing antico- agulation, which might suggest that the risk of an additive effect is small.
