• Do not take glycerin and witch hazel topical by mouth. It is for use only on your rectum.
• Stop using this medication and call your doctor at once if you have bloody diarrhea or severe pain, bleeding, or irritation near your rectum.
• Avoid using laxatives in combination with glycerin and witch hazel topical unless your doctor has told you to.
What is glycerin and witch hazel topical?
• Glycerin protects the skin and creates a protective barrier over hemorrhoids, allowing them to heal. Glycerin also prevents drying of these tissues and reduces itching.
• Witch hazel is an astringent. It shrinks swollen tissue and provide relief from itching and irritation.
• The combination of glycerin and witch hazel topical (for the skin) is used to relieve rectal pain, pressure, irritation, and mild bleeding caused by hemorrhoids. This medication will not treat or cure a hemorrhoid, it will only relieve the symptoms.
• Glycerin and witch hazel topical is also used to relieve vaginal discomfort after childbirth. This medicine may also be applied to the diaper area of a baby.
• Glycerin and witch hazel topical may also be used for purposes not listed in this medicine guide.

• You must not use this medicine if you are allergic to glycerin or witch hazel.
• It is not known whether this medicine will harm an unborn child. Do not use glycerin and witch hazel topical without medical advice if you are pregnant.
• It is not known whether this medicine passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing child. Do not use glycerin and witch hazel topical without medical advice if you are breast-feeding a baby.
How must I use glycerin and witch hazel topical?
