Food reduces the bioavailability of 
lansoprazole and esomeprazole by up to 50%. 
 It is recommended that 
lansoprazole should not be given with food. Giving 
lansoprazole one hour before food is probably enough to avoid the interaction. Esomeprazole capsules and suspension should be taken one hour before meals, but food does not appear to alter the effects of esomeprazole tablets on gastric acidity.
