DEXTROMETHORPHAN AND SIBUTRAMINE

There are no reports of adverse reactions between sibutramine and dextromethorphan but the manufacturers predict that concurrent use may lead to the potentially fatal serotonin syndrome.
The manufacturers suggest that concurrent use should be avoided. The extent of the risk with these serotonergic drugs is not known, but because of the potential severity of the reaction this warning would seem to be a prudent precaution.
