CLOPIDOGREL AND HERBAL MEDICINES OR DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS
Ginkgo biloba has been associated with bleeding, platelet and clotting disorders, and there are isolated reports of serious adverse reactions after its concurrent use with clopidogrel. However, a single-dose study found no increase in adverse effects when Ginkgo biloba was given with clopidogrel.
Concurrent use need not be avoided, but, as with any combination of antiplatelet drugs, caution should be exercised if Ginkgo biloba is used with drugs that affect platelet aggregation.
