Hepatotoxicity has been described in 2 patients taking
ciclosporin with oral
contraceptives containing ethinylestradiol or desogestrel plus levonorgestrel. The use of norethisterone 10 or 15 mg daily has caused raised
ciclosporin levels.
 The interactions between
ciclosporin and hormonal
contraceptives or norethis- terone are unconfirmed and of uncertain
clinical significance. There is insufficient evidence to recommend increased monitoring, but be aware of the potential for an interaction in case of an unexpected response to treatment.
