The blood levels of
digoxin were found to be markedly increased by 70% in two elderly patients when they took
hydroxychloroquine. A similar increase has been seen with
chloroquine in dogs.
The
clinical significance of this interaction is uncertain, but it would seem sensible to be aware of this potential interaction if both drugs are used.
