Profound hypotension and collapse has occurred in a small number of patients taking
verapamil with
disopyramide.
The manufacturers warn about combining
disopyramide and
verapamil (because
of additive negative inotropic effects), but they do point out that in some specific
circumstances the combination may be beneficial. Monitor concurrent use
carefully.
