Bupivacaine is an anesthetic (numbing medicine) that blocks the nerve impulses that send pain signals to your brain.
Bupivacaine liposome is used as a local (in only one area) anesthetic to numb an area of your body for a minor surgery such as bunion removal or hemorrhoid surgery.
Bupivacaine may also be used for purposes not listed in this medicine guide.

To create certain you can safely receive bupivacaine liposome, speak your doctor if you have any of these another conditions:
· liver disease;
· kidney disease;
· heart malady;
· a heart rhythm mess; or
· a history of seizures.
FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether bupivacaine liposome will harm an unborn child. Till you receive this medicine, speak your doctor if you are pregnant.
Bupivacaine liposome can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing child. Till you receive bupivacaine liposome, speak your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.
Bupivacaine is given as an injection placed into an area around your surgical incision. You will receive this injection in a hospital or surgical setting.
Some numbing medications can have long-lasting or delayed effects. Conversation to your doctor if you have concerns about this risk. Call your doctor if you have joint pain or stiffness, or weakness in any part of your body that occurs after your surgery, even months later.
Since bupivacaine liposome is used as a single doze, it does not have a daily dosing schedule.
Since this medicine is given by a healthcare professional in a medical setting, an overdose is unlikely to occur.
Follow your doctor's instructions about any restrictions on food, beverages, or activity.
Get abnormal medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives, red rash, itching; sneezing, difficulty breathing; severe dizziness, vomiting; swelling of your person, lips, tongue, or throat.
You will be watched closely after receiving bupivacaine liposome, to create certain you do not have a reaction to the medicine. Speak your caregivers at once if you have any of these signs of a serious side effect:
· ringing in your ears;
· feeling restless or anxious;
· feeling like you might pass out;
· speech or vision problems, a metallic taste in your mouth;
· numbness or tingling near your mouth;
· tremors, twitching, mood changes;
· quick heart course, feeling short of breath, feeling unusually hot or cool;
· numbness, weakness, or loss of movement where the injection was given; or
· if you still feel numb different hours after your surgery.
Smaller serious side effects include:
· mild dizziness or drowsiness;
· nausea, vomiting;
· constipation;
· itching;
· headache, back pain; or
· swelling in your hands or feet.

It is not likely that another drugs you take orally or inject will interact with a single injection of bupivacaine liposome for local anesthesia. But much drugs can interact with every another.
