Moxonidine increases the cognitive impairment caused by
lorazepam. Sedation and dizziness may occur with
moxonidine alone, which the manufacturers suggest may be additive with the effects of
benzodiazepines.
The degree of impairment will depend on the individual patient. However, warn all patients of the potential effects, and counsel against driving or undertaking other skilled tasks.
