Ketoconazole raises the
plasma levels of eletriptan 2.7-fold.
Itraconazole is expected to interact similarly.
The manufacturer states that the concurrent use of
ketoconazole and
itraconazole with eletriptan should be avoided. The US manufacturers further recommend that eletriptan should not be given within 72 hours of these
azoles. Other
triptans would be expected to have little or no interaction with the
azoles and may be suitable alternatives.
