AZOLES AND NRTIS - DIDANOSINE

Itraconazole levels may become undetectable if buffered didanosine is taken at the same time. In one case this resulted in treatment failure. A similar interaction would be expected with ketoconazole.
Itraconazole and ketoconazole should be taken at least 2 hours before buffered
didanosine. Consider changing to enteric-coated didanosine as it does not appear
to affect absorption of these azoles.
