ANTIDIABETICS AND SULFONAMIDES

The blood glucose lowering effects of some of the sulphonylureas are increased by some, but not all, sulfonamides. The sulfonamides now available appear less likely to interact. Nevertheless, occasionally and unpredictably acute hypoglycaemia has occurred.
The general importance of this interaction is uncertain.
