The concurrent use of biguanides (e.g. metformin) and
ketotifen appears to be well tolerated, but a fall in the number of
platelets has been seen in one study in patients taking the combination.
The
clinical importance of this is uncertain. The manufacturers recommend that concurrent use should be avoided until the effect is explained.
