Aminoglycosides are nephrotoxic and it is generally recommended that they should be avoided with other nephrotoxic drugs (such as amphotericin B). However, if concurrent use is essential it may be prudent to increase the renal function and drug level monitoring that is advised during aminoglycoside therapy.
