In isolated cases markedly raised
ciclosporin levels have occurred in patients given
allopurinol. However, two
clinical studies found a trend towards lower
ciclosporin levels with low-dose
allopurinol.
This interaction is unconfirmed and of uncertain
clinical significance. There is insufficient evidence to recommend increased monitoring, but be aware of the potential for an interaction in case of an unexpected response to treatment.
