What is the most significant information I must know about alclometasone topical?

• Use this medicine exactly as directed on the label, or as it has been predesigned by your doctor. Do not use the medicine in larger amounts or for longer than recommended. Topical steroid medication can be absorbed through the skin, which may reason steroid side effects throughout the body.

• Do not cover treated skin areas with a bandage or another covering unless your doctor has told you to. If you are treating the diaper area of a child, do not use plastic pants or tight-fitting diapers. Covering the skin that is treated with alclometasone topical can magnify the amount of medication your skin absorbs, which may lead to unwanted side effects. Follow your doctor's instructions.

• Do not use this medicine on a baby without a doctor's advice. Children are more likely to absorb big amounts of a topical steroid through the skin. Steroid absorption in children may reason unwanted side effects, or a delay in growth with long-term use. Conversation with your doctor if you think your baby is not growing at a usual course while using this medicine over a long treatment period.

• Contact your doctor if your condition does not improve within 2 weeks of using this medication, or if you develop signs of a bacterial, fungal, or viral skin infection.

What is alclometasone topical?

Alclometasone is a topical (for the skin) steroid. It reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that reason inflammation, redness, and swelling.

Alclometasone topical is used to treat the inflammation and itching caused by a number of skin conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, and psoriasis.

Alclometasone topical may also be used for another purposes not listed in this medicine guide.

What must I discuss with my healthcare provider till using alclometasone topical?

• Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to alclometasone.

• Till using alclometasone topical, speak your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have any type of skin infection.

• Also speak your doctor if you have diabetes. Topical steroid medicines absorbed through the skin may magnify the glucose (sugar) levels in your blood or urine.

• FDA pregnancy category C. This medicine may be deleterious to an unborn child. Speak your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment.

• It is not known whether alclometasone topical passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing child. Do not use this medicine without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

If you are treating the diaper area of a child, do not use plastic pants or tight-fitting diapers. Covering the skin that is treated with alclometasone topical can magnify the amount of medication your skin absorbs, which may lead to unwanted side effects. Follow your doctor's instructions.

What happens if I miss a dose?

• Use the medicine as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the following doze, skip the missed doze and use the medication at the following regularly scheduled time. Do not use extra medication to create up the missed dose.

What happens if I overdose?

• Search abnormal medical attention if you think you have used too many of this medicine.

• An overdose of alclometasone is not expected to manufacture life-threatening symptoms. However, long-term use of tall steroid doses can lead to symptoms such as thinning skin, light bruising, changes in the shape or location of body thick (especially in your person, neck, back, and waist), heighten acne or facial hair, menstrual problems, impotence, or loss of interest in sex.

What must I avoid while using alclometasone topical?

Alclometasone topical must not be used to treat any skin condition your doctor has not predesigned it for.

• Avoid using alclometasone topical to treat skin on your person, underarms, or groin area without your doctor's advice.

• Avoid getting this medicine in your eyes. If contact does occur, rinse with water. Do not use alclometasone topical on broken or infected skin. Also avoid using this medicine in open wounds.

What are the possible side effects of alclometasone topical?

• Get abnormal medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your person, lips, tongue, or throat.

• Stop using this medicine and call your doctor at once if you have severe irritation of any treated skin, or if you show signs of absorbing alclometasone topical through your skin, such as:

· blurred vision, or seeing halos near lights;

· mood changes;

· sleep problems (insomnia);

· weight gain, puffiness in your person; or

· muscle weakness, feeling tired.

• Smaller serious side effects of alclometasone may include:

· mild skin rash, itching, burning, redness, or dryness;

· thinning or softening of your skin;

· skin rash or irritation near your mouth;

· swollen hair follicles;

· changes in color of treated skin;

· blisters, pimples, or crusting of treated skin; or

· stretch marks.

What another drugs will affect alclometasone topical?

• It is not likely that another drugs you take orally or inject will have an effect on topically applied alclometasone topical. But much drugs can interact with every another. Do not start a new medicine without telling your doctor.
